And the count down begins…
In approximately 22 days or so we will be transferring an embryo into my body! So exciting!!!
Last week was not a good week for me. I had a migraine 4 times within 6 days. I was nauseous almost every day last week since Saturday, 5/4. I couldn’t focus at work and felt like I could barely do anything at home. By Friday, 5/10 I was spent. I woke up with another migraine and just slept the entire day and night away. It’s crazy how much you can sleep when your body needs it. I can barely sleep on a daily basis, but when I’m sick or have a migraine-all I can do is sleep. 🤷♀️
I took my last birth control pill on Friday, THANK GOD!! I feel like my body was fighting with the hormones from the pill because I felt as though my body was trying to get my period, but because I was taking the hormones that the pill provided it wouldn’t let it happen. Last pill Friday, period was here Saturday morning. Like hallelujah 🙇🏼♀️ Because almost immediately I felt normal again. Well, as normal as you can feel while bleeding out of your hoo haw 😂🤪 Besides the cramps I was a new woman. Lol
I called the doctors office and left a message that my period was here and they called me back on Monday. Scheduled an ultrasound for Tuesday. Went in for the ultrasound and all looked good. The doctor explained that the nursed would give me the medication education and I would start the estrogen therapy. I also had to sign a consent form to allow them to thaw 1 female embryo on the date of transfer and another if needed. Jay also has to go in and sign the consent form as well.
I started the estrogen last night (Tuesday) and will continue a dose in the am and pm for about 18 days, I start a second dose twice per day on Sunday, 5/19 along with the dose I am already taking. I will be going in weekly for now to have an ultrasound and blood work done. The estrogen is to help grow and maintain the endometrium lining and sustain a pregnancy. The estrogen also helps the placenta to function, boosts blood flow to the uterus and primes the body for breastfeeding. It may be continued for up to 12 weeks of pregnancy. Of course with most medications there are some side effects.
After the 18 days of estrogen I will start the progesterone injections. She didn’t give me any more information on what’s next, just the estrogen for now. And to let us know that the transfer date will be any where from June 5th-June 13th. 😊💕
I hate to add this, but it happened so I’m going to say it. Another $1124 today as I was checking out. That was the cost of the last appointment that they didn’t let me know about until today. I knew I would have to pay for the last appointment (biopsy and mock transfer), but never knew how much it would cost. So, I asked specifically what I would have to pay for and how much from this day until pregnancy. They let me know that we will be paying for the blood test for pregnancy, and 2 ultrasounds after that and let me know how much they would cost. At least we know and can plan. I can’t believe how non chalant (sp?) the office is about how much everything costs. But, again-we are in control with our words, and could have asked at any time what each service would cost. There are lessons in everything we do.
Thank you all for reading and being a part of our journey. This is really what is helping keep us sane during this process. Just knowing how much support we have out there makes us feel so much better. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!
Much ❤️April & Jay
