Emi
Hello! I’m sorry we haven’t posted in a while. Of course you know why. Lol We are so busy with little Miss Emi.
Our baby girl turned 7 months old yesterday and 4 months corrected today. For those of you that do not know what corrected age is, I’ll explain it.
When a baby is born premature the days prior to their due date is their gestational age, or the age they would be still in the womb. So, basically Emis time in the NICU she should have still been in the womb. Her due date was May 15th, so every day since that date is her corrected age. These are the milestones she is meeting and developmental age that she is. So her height/weight and milestones are all based on a 4 month old. And she has been meeting the 4 month milestones for a couple of weeks. Up until now she has been about a week late to the prior milestones. So we are very excited she is ahead of schedule.
Babies catch up to the actual age at about 2 years old.
She gets to start eating baby cereal and baby food today. We are so excited for that. She has been staring us down at dinner time like “why am I not eating that food?” Lol.
She loves to babble like she is having a conversation with you!! 🥰
I am so grateful that I get to spend each day with her. I get to work from home, so I’m not missing anything.
I hate that we are going through a pandemic but it has kept us safe since she isn’t supposed to be around small children and a lot of germs.
Of course we want to show her off to the world and cannot do that. That is definitely tough.
We think about our baby Jay every single day. I talk to Emi about him and always will. She will always know her twin brother is her Guardian Angel!
I don’t want to say it’s gotten easier as time goes by, but it has. We have to stay happy and positive for Emi and cannot go back. Like I said, she will never not know about him and he will always be in our hearts.
We have a special tree that was given to us with an angel that will be planted close to the house as a little memorial. We also have a shelf on her bookshelf in her room of all of his things. We have memories of him all over our house.
He will always have a piece of our ❤️
Just wanted to share some photos of our sweet girl!
